NETWORK USERS
After entering the Microsoft product ID number the following setup MUST be performed for
the network card to operate properly.
Whenever the system is booted a user name and password must be supplied to access the
network. Consult with your network administrator for inputs requested. The system will
prompt for printer setup on the second boot. You may enter the printer setup at this time
or at a later time by using the "Add Printers" in the My Computer Icon. When the
system has booted to the Windows desktop, continue with the following steps to setup the
network adapter.
- Using the mouse "right button" click on My Computer Icon
- "Left button" click on Properties in the pull down menu
- Click on the Device Manager tab
- Click on the "+" next to Network Adapters
- Double click the Realtek8019 PNP LAN adapter
- Click on Resources tab
- Uncheck the Use Automatic Settings if set
- Click on Interrupt Request
- Click the Change Settings button
- Using the up/down arrows for Value set to 9
- Click on OK button for "Use these settings"
- Click OK button to close adapter setup
- Click Yes when system prompts to "continue with these settings"
- Reboot the system by clicking the Start menu button and selecting Shutdown
"restart the computer"
Consult with your network administrator to setup "Computer Name, Workgroup,
Computer Description, and file & printer sharing" in the Network Neighborhood
Icon for your local network.
